the classic question: who would i have at my fantasy dinner party?
1. sophie, in case i got tongue-tied and couldn't speak to my guests, i'd have my best there
2. stephen fry, the most interesting, intelligent man i can think of
3. judi dench, one of the most overlooked, brilliant actresses
4. zach braff, iloveyou
5. charlotte bronte, her book is the best thing in my life
6. dumbledore, a fictional character yes, but oh so real in my heart
and that's all, because there'll be seven of us this way
and seven is perfect

the first paragraph
it goes like this
"Language dictates everything, from the way we behave to the way we think. I have had much experience of different cultures, and have always loved the idea that the spoken word can have such an influence over us. My A-Level subjects reflect this in that I have attained, to date, English literature, German and drama as full A-levels. In English and Drama, I have, of course, studied Shakespeare in much depth. Looking at this alongside German, I was struck by the similarities in language, showing me more about both where our language came from and how it has developed."
i cannot wait to go to uni and do this course (fingers, toes and eyes crossed).
they think that language developed as a necessity after early humans began to think intelligently. and that started from looking into the centre of the fire...

my fave all time love book
is this

"I had not intended to love him; the reader knows I had wrought hard to extirpate from my soul the germs of love there detected; and now, at the first renewed view of him, they spontaneously revived, great and strong! He made me love him without looking at me"
"Gentle reader, may you never feel what I then felt? May your eyes never shed such stormy, scalding, heart-wrung tears as poured from mine. May you never appeal to Heaven in prayers so hopeless and so agonized as in that hour left my lips; for never may you, like me, dread to be the instrument of evil to what you wholly love"
"Reader, I married him."
i love this book so much
it has everything
and is my everything

a weekend
in posh-people-ville is exactly what i needed.
nan's 70th birthday... stayed truly in the lap of luxury
the beds were clouds
we could practically do lengths in our bath
someone flew in in a helicopter
and the waiters even put our napkins on our laps for us
all this struck me as more than a little unnecessary, but nice just for the weekend
who am i kidding? if i could've stayed there, i would
